Update or replace a health card

2026 is a health card renewal year

Watch for your health card renewal stickers in the mail this fall. They’ll be mailed to all Saskatchewan households starting in September 2026. The stickers let health care providers know you’re eligible for health coverage until Dec. 31, 2029.

If you’ve moved since you received your health card or current sticker – remember to update your address with eHealth!

Keeping your address current helps make sure your renewal stickers arrive and your health coverage continues without interruption.

When to update your health card information

Keep your health card information up to date so health claims can be processed properly. Update your information if: 

  • you move
  • you have a child
  • you get married, divorced or have a relationship change
  • you change your name
  • your health card expired within the last year
  • you have updated immigration documents
  • you’ll be absent from Saskatchewan for an extended period
  • you’re returning from an extended absence
  • you've been appointed power of attorney for a Saskatchewan resident

How to update your information

Go to Saskatchewan Account. Create an account, or sign in if you already have one.

Under My Services, find Health Card. If you don’t see it, add or link it to your account.

 Under Health Card, select Use Service.

Under Tasks, select Apply for a health card/Update your health card information.

Under Request Changes, select Next.

Select Start New Change Request.

Sign in to your Saskatchewan Account.

Under My services, select Health card.  Select Use service.

Select Apply for a health card/Update your health card information. Under Request Changes, select Next.

Select View status.

Select Attach and choose the files to upload. Select Submit My Documents.

"R" Display on health card

The "R" display is no longer printed on Saskatchewan health cards. There is no provincial requirement for this display.  

If your existing health card has an "R," you can request a new card without it.
